Rather than presenting three artists simply because their work could coexist within the same exhibition space, Reason and Dreams was conceived around the deeper affinities between their practices: the relationship between structure and intuition, form and emotion, reason and imagination.

Reason and Dreams: From Geometry to Poetic Imagination
The exhibition was built around three ideas:
Geometry. Imagination. Contemplation.
These three words provided the conceptual framework for the presentation and allowed three distinctive artistic languages to enter into dialogue.
At the beginning of the journey was the geometric abstraction of Annabel Andrews. Her paintings use colour, rhythm and structure to create compositions characterised by balance and quiet contemplation.
From there, the exhibition moved towards the symbolic and poetic universe of Jacqueline Schreier, where painting, sculpture and ceramics transform nature, memory and imagination into a distinctive visual language.
Completing the exhibition was The Serene Lady, a guest sculpture by Marta Prats, whose carved wooden figure introduced another dimension of contemplation and created a bridge between the two artistic approaches.
Together, these works created an exhibition in which different media and generations could coexist without losing their individuality.
Annabel Andrews: Geometry as a Language of Emotion
For more than five decades, Annabel Andrews has developed a distinctive abstract language in which geometry becomes a vehicle for emotion.

Jacqueline Schreier: Poetry, Nature and Dreams
If Andrews begins with structure, Jacqueline Schreier moves towards imagination.
Across painting, sculpture, ceramics and textiles, Schreier has developed an artistic language shaped by nature, mythology and memory. Her works create symbolic worlds populated by animals, celestial forms and dreamlike landscapes, where the boundary between reality and imagination becomes deliberately fluid.
Works such as Migrating, El Manantial, Fauna and Cuadrito Perdido reveal different facets of this poetic universe.
In Migrating, for instance, painted imagery is combined with sculptural metal elements extending beyond the canvas, creating an immersive work in which symbolism and materiality become part of the same experience.
Schreier's sculptures extend this language into three dimensions. Clay, ceramics, wood, copper, brass and iron become vehicles for symbolic expression, while organic forms, figures and animals introduce a tactile dimension to the artist's poetic imagination.
This movement from painting into sculpture was particularly important within Reason and Dreams, allowing the exhibition to move beyond a dialogue between two-dimensional compositions and into the physical space of the viewer.
Marta Prats: The Serene Lady
At the centre of the transition between reason and dreams stood The Serene Lady, a guest sculpture by Marta Prats.
Hand-carved from a single block of cherry wood and enriched with aged gold and silver leaf, the sculpture presents a female figure standing vertically with her eyes gently closed.
Within the exhibition, Prats' sculpture was conceived as occupying the space between Andrews' geometry and Schreier's poetic imagination. The figure becomes an embodiment of contemplation and reverie — a point at which reason gently gives way to dreams.
The work also creates a dialogue between history and contemporary sculpture. Its visual language recalls the legacy of medieval devotional sculpture, while its vertical form, minimalist iron base and direct treatment of the wood place it firmly within a contemporary context.
