Description
I
Some images remain in memory as fragments of movement: traces of light, urban geometries, the rhythm of the sea, and the sensation of moving through an open space. Paseo Marítimo, by Annabel Andrews, seems to emerge from this suspended, almost aerial perspective, where architecture, movement, and color become an emotional experience rather than a literal representation.
In this original work, Annabel Andrews develops a geometric abstraction of remarkable visual intensity, structured through expansive fields of electric blue intersected by bold black forms and fluorescent pink accents that activate the composition with precision and tension. Executed in acrylic and pigments on cotton duck canvas, the painting combines atmospheric depth with architectural clarity, creating a sense of expanding space and continuous movement.
The inclination of the forms and the dialogue between transparency, line, and color blocks evoke a contemporary vision of the urban-maritime landscape, interpreted through memory and perception. With a format of 57.5 x 44.9 x 0.78 in (146 x 114 x 2 cm), Paseo Marítimo brings a sophisticated and vibrant presence to contemporary living rooms, dining areas, corporate interiors, boutique hotels, and interior design projects where color and geometry can transform a space with elegance and character.
The work belongs to the visual universe of Annabel Andrews, a British artist based in Madrid whose practice is defined by an ongoing exploration of balance, geometry, and chromatic emotion within contemporary abstraction.

"On beginning to wonder why art has been important to me through so many years, and knowing that vitality dies with an excess of reason, I could talk about the balance between instinct and reason, and how to express myself technically with materials and colour through spontaneous intuition -with an aesthetic feeling - for a cluster of forms and colors arranged to stir the reader in a way that music does.
In an outer world of chaos : abstract painting can appeal to our senses to find psychic equilibrium."
