Description

In a style leaning towards expressionism and abstraction, the work incorporates stains and diluted paint applied in layers. It began with the canvas stained red, followed by the introduction of black—a kind of struggle between the two—and finally, a yellow mark that suggested a pause, a touch that supported the dialogue between red and black.

The technique is always oil on canvas. Occasionally, the artist uses added texture with materials like sand or plaster, but in this piece, only heavily diluted oil was used, which dripped across the canvas.

The work is framed with a black wooden edge and measures 84.5 x 102.5 x 3.5 cm; without the frame, it measures 81 x 100 x 2 cm. It is ready to hang.

Ana Guerrero

"What I’m passionate about in painting is that it activates my creative capacity.

I discover a new way to connect with myself—to express my inner world through a personal and intuitive language. My painting follows a thread, a center, a refuge that expands by crossing boundaries in search of stillness and silence.

I feel free when I let myself go, with loose brushstrokes over diluted backgrounds, where oil paint plays with its rich textures, subtle nuances, and an endless palette of colors.

Some series have emerged from inner sensations; others, from my love of nature—drawing inspiration from the microcosm of a flower or the macrocosm of the planets. Always in search of a sheltered space where I can delve into what is intimate and essential.

Her works are in private collections in the USA, Singapore, and Spain.
