Description

Calcuttan 10 is part of the Calcutta series by Annabel Andrews, an exclusive fine art print collection available only at And-Art Works.

Inspired by the architectural rhythm and chromatic atmosphere of India, Andrews continues her exploration of geometry, space, and emotion through minimalist collage.

On a soft beige background, two square color blocks — one in ultramarine blue, the other in earthy grey-brown — are suspended one above the other, separated by a quiet space. The figures are offset, creating a subtle tension and dynamic balance. Connecting them, two delicate graphite lines trace a near-invisible thread, a bridge between form and emptiness.

Within the upper blue block, two black fragments appear to fall, while another fragment drifts freely downward into the open space — as if drawn toward a small green shape resting near the lower edge. These gestures transform simplicity into poetry: gravity, distance, and attraction become metaphors for movement and connection.
