Description

This series of paintings on paper, titled Popular Architectures, is inspired by the facades of anonymous houses in rural Spanish architecture.

They are geometries of color fields.

I intend to convey to the viewer the emotion that these humble constructions produced in me.

Artist

Antonio Ventura

Antonio Ventura Fernández was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1954.

He studied at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios on Calle Marqués de Cubas under the guidance of painter Bernardo Sanjurjo for one year.

Subsequently, he worked in the studios of painters Guillermo García Saúco and José Luis Gómez Perales.

He has held over 30 solo exhibitions across Spain, France, Sweden, and Finland.

Additionally, he has participated in the ARCO art fair for two consecutive years. His work has been recognised with awards at the Castellón and Murcia Biennials in Spain.

At present, he resides in Las Navas del Marqués, Ávila, Spain.
